For nearly 60 years, Medart Gallery has been a place on Maryland’s Route 4 — a place where first-time collectors and lifelong patrons alike come to find art worth keeping.
After meeting on an Italian beach and enduring a three-year long-distance courtship, William and AnnaMaria marry and begin wholesaling art imported from the Neapolitan region of Italy to galleries and restaurants along the East Coast. Their love for Mediterranean art and culture became the foundation of what would eventually grow into Medart Gallery.
Medart Gallery opens its first retail location on Andrews Air Force Base while also traveling as a roving concessionaire to military installations throughout the Washington, D.C. and Maryland region.
Medart Gallery relocates from Owings to Dunkirk, Maryland, and expands to offer musical instrument rentals, gifts, and an even wider selection of art and custom framing services.
Medart Gallery relocates and expands to its current location on Town Center Boulevard, Suite 1, in Dunkirk, Maryland. With custom framing now completed on site, the gallery broadens its offerings to include photo restoration, an expanded gift collection, LOLA Jewelry, Riccardo Marzi tableware, Penny James jewelry, and handcrafted pottery — extending the gallery experience beyond the frame.
The AnnaBella Artisan sterling silver jewelry collection is created in honor of Mom, AnnaMaria. Designed by best friends Heather Maertens and Teresa Schrodel, the collection is sold exclusively at Medart Gallery. Each design is thoughtfully named in honor of a special woman in their lives.
Medart Gallery is more than a gallery, it is a reflection of family, culture, craftsmanship, and storytelling. Built from a love of Mediterranean art and carried through generations, it is a place where memories are preserved, creativity is celebrated, and meaningful pieces find a home.
Our philosophy has always been simple: If you love it, frame it. Whether it’s a family heirloom, travel memory, military keepsake, child’s artwork, wedding invitation, diploma, photograph, or fine art, we believe the pieces that mean the most deserve to be preserved, protected, and beautifully displayed. Framing is more than decoration, it is storytelling, preservation, and honoring the moments and memories that shape our lives.
Our door has been open on Route 4 since 1968. Stop by for a

While serving in the United States Navy, William “Bill” Radosevic was assigned to NATO Headquarters in Naples, Italy. It was there that he retired from the Navy, met the beautiful Neapolitan woman he would later marry, AnnaMaria, and discovered what would become a lifelong passion for art. Through friendships with many local Neapolitan artists, Bill began collecting original oil paintings and developed a deep appreciation for fine art and craftsmanship.
In the late 1960s, Bill partnered with his former shipmate, Jim, to sell artwork to American military personnel stationed in Italy and export original oil paintings to wholesalers in the United States. What began as a small venture grew steadily, fueled by Bill’s entrepreneurial spirit and love of art.
In 1979, Bill and AnnaMaria opened their first retail gallery at Andrews Air Force Base outside Washington, D.C. In 1985, they expanded by opening a second gallery in Owings, Maryland, before relocating to Dunkirk, Maryland, in 1992. As the business continued to grow, they moved and expanded once again in 2012, establishing the current Medart Gallery location in the Dunkirk Gateway Business Center.
What started as a passion discovered in Naples evolved into a family business dedicated to bringing art, custom framing, and exceptional service to generations of customers throughout the Washington D.C. area.
GALLERY DIRECTOR
As part of the family business, Teresa grew up accompanying her father on sales calls and purchasing trips to New York and overseas, while also helping at the original Medart Gallery located at Andrews Air Force Base. During high school, she worked in the gallery and quickly discovered her own passion for the art and framing industry.
After graduating from Frostburg State University, Teresa returned to Southern Maryland and joined the family business full-time at the new Dunkirk location. Today, as Gallery Director of Medart Gallery and Custom Framing, she oversees daily operations, financial management, and marketing, while bringing a distinctive eye for color, design, and presentation that helps transform meaningful pieces into beautifully preserved works of art for her customers.
Teresa also earned her Master’s Degree in Business Management, with a concentration in Marketing, from University of Maryland Global Campus. A dedicated supporter of the Southern Maryland community, she has served as a board member for Calvert Hospice, the Southern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce, and the Calvert Chamber of Commerce. Teresa has also been an active member of the Calvert Chamber since 1992, reflecting her long-standing commitment to local business and community involvement.
FRAMING DIRECTOR
From an early age, Frank Radosevic was immersed in the family art business, accompanying his father on art purchasing trips throughout Europe. As a teenager, he worked in the family gallery after school, where he developed a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship and detail involved in custom picture framing.
After graduating high school, Frank attended the Corcoran School of Art, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography. While in college, he continued refining his framing skills by cutting mats for fellow students and framing senior art exhibitions.
Over the years, Frank has mastered the art of custom framing and has helped thousands of clients preserve and showcase their artwork, diplomas, collectibles, and treasured keepsakes through thoughtful design and expert craftsmanship.
